Guardsquare Announces Latest Update to Android Mobile App Security Solution

Today we are proud to announce the release of the most recent version of Guardsquare’s mobile application security solution: DexGuard 9.2 for Android. With this new release we are introducing CodePush support and improved automatic runtime application self-protection (RASP) injection.

CodePush Support

While previous versions of DexGuard included support for React Native and Cordova applications, our most recent release now includes compatibility with the CodePush service for those mobile apps. CodePush is an App Center cloud service that enables Apache Cordova and React Native developers to deploy mobile application updates directly to their users’ devices. Using DexGuard, it is now possible to secure a CodePush update separate from your app.

Automatic RASP Injection Improvements

Our automatic RASP capabilities have taken another significant step forward: we can now automatically apply RASP protection in libraries. This means that if you are a library developer, you are no longer required to rely on manual RASP checks and you can use DexGuard to insert all RASP checks at the time of processing. We also improved the resilience of our checks, making them harder to identify and remove using static analysis.
